Zinedine Zidane's warning: I like Paul Pogba, he likes Madrid

"I like Paul Pogba a lot, I know him personally", Zidane said. He's a really different player, somebody who brings something few others can to the pitch.

"However, he is not my player and he is a Manchester United player and we have to respect that", said Zidane.

Zidane was not so forthright when Paris Saint-Germain striker Kylian Mbappe - another reported target for Madrid - was mentioned.

"You can not say these days what a player is worth - €100m, €20m, €300m", he said.

Below we've taken a look at two possible ways Real Madrid could line-up with the World Cup victor in the side.

"I am happy at United but you never know what will happen tomorrow".

"We know the player he is but he is not my player".

Gareth Bale earned praise from Zinedine Zidane but the returning Real Madrid boss refused to give assurances over the winger's future in Spain.

"We know what he has done here, even in Champions League finals".

"There are 10 games left and that is the only thing we have to think about, finishing the season well".

"Nobody can take away what he has done. That does not mean that, afterwards, there will be changes".

"He will have a little bit more help on choosing and selection, but more importantly the decision I would say 100 per cent will be the manager's choice".

"But, ultimately, Manchester United are very professional and I'm sure they'll make sure the players they want to keep they do keep".

"Eight years already here, he has been phenomenal".

Goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, who lost his place to Keylor Navas when Zidane returned, suffered a thigh injury on global duty with Belgium last week.

So how would Pogba fit into Zidane's team? Luka Modric, Toni Kroos and Raphael Varane have all been excluded from the 19-man squad named by the manager.
