We are definitely going to have some fun testing these in the following days. Alongside a basic Black, there is also Pearl White, Breathing Crystal (light blue), Amber Sunrise (orange) and Aurora (blue-green, based on the Northern Lights).

Huawei P30 vs P30 Pro: What's common Both Huawei P30 and the P30 Pro smartphones are powered by Huawei's own Kirin 980 chipset - which also powers the Huawei Mate 20 series smartphones. It also improves portrait mode and bokeh effects by maintaining details in the foreground while naturally blurring details in the background.

If you're a novice, or just want to take a simple picture, the Huawei P30 Pro.s Standard photo mode gives you the chance to simply point and shoot.

But it is the new eight-megapixel SuperZoom camera, which like a periscope uses a prism to reflect light down the inside of the width of the phone to make room for the required series of lenses for a 5x optical zoom, that is the most interesting.

The P30 Pro will ship with 8GB of RAM and will be available in 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB storage configurations. The next best items on the list are the Samsung Galaxy S10+ and Huawei's Mate 20 Pro and P20 Pro.

Other photography features include a 50x digital zoom (that combines OIS and AI), an LED flash, and HDR. Mechanical optical image stabilisation has been introduced to both the standard lens, and the 5x optical zoom lens - which should be very useful for keeping those longer length shots sharp, as well as keeping 4K video stabilised for the first time.

The P30 has a 3,650mAh battery with support for 22.5W fast charging while the P30 Pro has a 4,200mAh battery with support for 40W fast-charging and support for 15W wireless fast charging.

Huawei Consumer Business CEO Richard Yu presents the P30 Series in Paris, France. To keep the P30 Pro thin, the periscope lens sits behind a prism that rotates images by 90 degrees. You also get Colour Temperature and Flicker sensor. The great news is that all P30 Pro pre-order deals come with a free, superb Sonos One speaker worth around £200 to sweeten this release even further. There is also a 16-megapixel ultra-wide-angle secondary camera with an f/2.2 (17mm) lens and an 8-megapixel sensor along with a telephoto lens (80mm) featuring an f/2.4 aperture.

While this was showing nowhere near the handset's true capability, given the speed and bandwidth available, we did see enough detail and depth to suggest you won't have any problems watching TV on the train when the P30 Pro is connected to 4G or better wi-fi. Huawei is pushing its dual-NPU to its limits by using two of the rear cameras on board to record videos simultaneously.

The P30 Pro comes packed with AI and HDR+ technology, using which you can capture "Super Portrait Mode" photos with vast details - down to the strands of hair on the subject's face. It comes with IP68 rating which means that is water and dust proof.

A year after the P20 Pro stunned the world with its cameras and snatched the top place on DxOMark's leaderboards, Huawei is back with a successor.
