Should Sarri leave his position then one man in the frame for a switch to the Bridge would be Zinedine Zidane, but according to The Sun the former Real Madrid boss will only join the club if he can have a host of demands adhered to.

In any case the Italian could very well be out of a job very soon, as Chelsea slip further away from Champions League qualification while losing four out of the last eight games in all competitions, the latest being a 2-0 defeat to Manchester United in the FA Cup on Monday night.

Sarri has regularly commented in recent weeks and months how little he has to do with transfers, while the continued absence of a technical director since the departure of Michael Emenalo in 2017 has seemingly left the club without a clear long-term plan.

Now though it seems that Chelsea are the favourites to land him - in case they sack Maurizio Sarri.

Zidane is keen on making a return to the managerial front after nearly a year of sabbatical and with Chelsea hovering over him, he has placed three demands in front of the Blues if they want him to join, as per reports.

Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois feels he has found two good houses for former Chelsea teammate Eden Hazard to choose from in La Finca.

Zidane, who distanced himself from the Manchester United job following Jose Mourinho's departure late a year ago, is believed to be attracted by the prospect of working in London.

"It's perhaps telling that he's the only candidate being backed with all the other leading contenders friendless in the market, though we have seen a bit of backing for Luis Enrique at 20/1".
