Today's Nintendo Direct was fully dedicated to the incoming Smash Bros game, which launches on December 7 and is sure to be a big seller over the coming months. Additionally, a new trailer of the game was released, showcasing a hint of the backstory for the game's new story mode dubbed, "World of Light".

Ken from Street Fighter is an echo fighter of Ryu, while Incineroar from Pokémon Sun/Moon is a brand-new character with a lot of wrestling moves.

Nintendo announced that they felt as though there wasn't any place for collectible trophies this time out - saying that they were a ton of extra work too.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will include every single fighter ever featured in the series' almost two-decade run, making it one of the biggest crossover events in gaming history. But it does contain a Mii Fighter outfit, and Xenoblade Spirits and music from the Xenoblade Chronicles. You'll explore a map and encounter other fighters. Ultimate voice chat. There will also be an exclusive service called Smash World, starting in 2019.
