Mac minis have historically been Apple's least expensive Macs, and the latest iteration is no exception, with the entry level, 8GB memory model starting at $799. Apple says the all-new Mac mini offers five times the performance as previous generations, up to 6-core processors, apart from more memory capacity (up to 64GB of RAM), and all-flash storage.

Starts at $799 for 8GB RAM, Core i3 processor and 128GB SSD. On the back, we have a 10Gbps-capable Ethernet port, full-sized HDMI 2.0, 2x USB-A (we hope they are 3.0) and 4x Thunderbolt 3 connectors.

Today's Apple event is ongoing as we speak, and the company is releasing a slate of new Mac and iPad products. Its graphical capabilities are rated as 60 per cent faster than the previous generation.

We're still awaiting United Kingdom prices but expect the Mac Mini to be available at the same time as in the US. The "budget" MacBook Air is pricier than ever with a starting cost of $1,199 United States dollars, that ultimately topping out at $2,599 USD. The TX line of security chips was originally introduced in 2016 MacBook Pros, while the T2 Security Chips was introduced in last year's iMac Pro, and then added to Apple's 2018 MacBook Pro lineup.
