Mac Miller's Death Reportedly The Reason Ariana Grande And Pete Davidson Split

Last week the 24-year-old Saturday Night Live star stepped out in NY and the bunny ears had been transformed into a love heart. "She has gone through two absolutely appalling and emotionally damaging events and Pete can't "fix" her - they both know that, no matter how much love they have for each other".

The couple soon set up home together in New York City, but it appears there's trouble in paradise - sources tell TMZ.com Ariana and the Saturday Night Live funnyman parted ways over the weekend. "It's not shocking to anyone".

The news of their breakup comes shortly after Ariana's team announced that the singer would be taking time away from the public eye.

Grande has been going through a hard time since her ex-boyfriend Mac Miller died of an apparent overdose at 26 in September.

Since then Ariana had been spotted sporting a 3-carat, $100,000 ($140kAUD) engagement ring from Pete, and dining with him at romantic restaurants across the city. "They just genuinely decided that it's best right now for them to be apart", a source close to Ariana told HollywoodLife EXCLUSIVELY.

Both parties are yet to release any statements via their own social platforms however Pete Davidson has now deleted his accounts.

The former engaged couple have reportedly split weeks following Grande's ex-boyfriend Mac Miller dying. Pete also had her last name, Grande, inked across his ribs. According to Us Weekly, she had pulled out of an appearance at a cancer benefit scheduled for this past Saturday for personal reasons. "And while I was frustrated, being the manager, my wife, being who she always is, just looked at me and she goes, 'She needs this time'".

The pair met when Grande hosted "SNL" in 2014. In August, Grande dropped her latest album "Sweetener" with a song titled "Pete Davidson".
