Sunshine is expected to return to the forecast by the weekend.

Wednesday will be mostly cloudy and warm (the mercury could hit 77 in Boston) with a chance of showers and thunderstorms.

"Temperatures will be warmer than we saw on Monday, but still fairly cool given the cloud cover", forecasters said.
