But a new family of Xiaomi smartphones could be unveiled on the old continent soon, and its first member is tipped by a very credible insider to be "cheap as chips".

As mentioned earlier Xiaomi has announced its Mi A2 and Mi A2 Lite, the two news successors to last year's Mi A1. The powerful processor couples with 4000 mAh battery.

The much-awaited second generation Mi A series smartphone is all set to launch tomorrow at Madrid, Spain. Also, both these phone come with the promise of frequent and timely software updates, considering they're part of Google's Android One program. The camera is where the Xiaomi Mi A2 shines compared to its predecessor.

The Mi A2 features a 5.99-inch FHD+ 18:9 display backed by a layer of Gorilla Glass 5. Whereas, the Mi A1 has a 1920 x 1080 px IPS LCD panel.

Under the hood, Xiaomi Mi A2 is rumoured to include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC, paired with 4GB of RAM. However, the Snapdragon 625 paired with a huge battery might actually be quite good.

The camera setup on the Mi A2 consists of a total of three sensors. On the front, the smartphone carries a 20 MP f/1.8 camera which can record Full HD videos. The dual rear cameras are aligned horizontally with LED flash tucked in between two camera lens. The phone would be powered by a 3,010 mAh battery. Coming to the Mi Electric Toothbrush, as the name suggests, it is a smart toothbrush with 31,000 vibrations per minute for high cleaning power accompanied with rounded bristles, IPX 7 water resistance rating and a charge that last for 18 days. For imaging duties, the Mi A2 Lite offers a 5-megapixel front camera and a dual rear camera setup comprising of 12-megapixel primary sensor (1.25-micron pixels), complete with PDAF, and a 5-megapixel secondary camera. Entry-level, because, the price of the Mi A2 could be under the Rs. 15,000 price bracket. Despite offering a display panel with an nearly 6-inch diagonal, Xiaomi managed to ensure the Mi A2 is a rather compact device, being only 158.7 x 75.4 x 7.3mm in size and weighing just 166g.

Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite comes with a slightly smaller 5.84-inch Full HD+ display. The A2 Lite starts at just €279 (around $325). This chipset also featured in the Mi A1. The Mi A2 Lite, meanwhile, may cost RON 943 (roughly Rs. 16,200) for the 3GB RAM/ 32GB storage and RON 1,143 (roughly Rs. 19,700) for the 4GB RAM/ 64GB storage variant. It is also possible that the Mi A2 and Mi A2 Lite may sport an even lower price tag.

Xiaomi will be bringing the Mi A2 and Mi A2 Lite to 40 markets starting "late July", which most likely means "next week". Retail sources have pinged Mobilissimo.ro on pricing and availability for the Mi A2 in two configurations. Xiaomi released a couple of images revealing the markets which the devices will make into and guess what, the Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite will not be launched in India, going by the images.
