Halo Infinite Announced For Xbox One, Developed By 343 Industries

Microsoft kicked off its E3 conference today with a brand new Halo game announcement, and just as all Xbox exclusives nowadays, the game is also coming to Windows 10.

The trailer was followed by the explanation that Master Chief will be saving humanity once more in the new game, the first in three years since the release of Halo 5.

"When we started this project, the team's vision for the game was ambitious", Studio Head Chris Lee said.

So putting all the clues together, I'd wager this is not Halo 6, but more of a side-project where we play as a Spartan soldier training up and gathering resources before the big conflict, which will come in Halo 6. We are taking the time we need to make the right game and are making changes to how we approach things this time around.

No release date or gameplay footage was revealed, and no additional details were given, save that the game will be using the newly announced Slipspace Engine. "We will have some new and unexpected directions to take folks in and I believe the way we achieve that is to build alongside our community, iterating and improving as we go".

This afternoon during Microsoft's E3 2018 Xbox briefing, Halo Infinite was revealed to a very excited, very packed house.
