The 4 are believed to have filmed the video for the World Cup observe over the weekend. Every year, an anthem is chosen to represent the game and to be presented to all viewers - this year, that anthem will be performed by Will Smith, along with Nicky Jam and Kosovo singer Era Istrefi, and produced by Diplo.

According to reports in Billboard and other publications, the track is to be released on 25 May, and is being produced by Diplo, the United States producer behind hits with his group Major Lazer including Lean On and Cold Water.

Prior to that, Vibe reported that, according to reggaeton producer DJ Nelson, Smith and Nicky Jam were working on the song.

A day before Smith made the announcement about the World Cup, Jam had posted a picture of the pair on Twitter, saying: "The best of everything is the process".

He has recently focused primarily on his acting career, and the World Cup song signals a return to music more than 10 years after his last solo album, "Lost and Found".

Well, at least a couple of Americans will perform for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

The FIFA World Cup begins in Russian Federation on June 14 and it is tradition for the artist who performs the official song to perform at the final. "They're making this big song and it's just so insane".

At the 2014 World Cup, Pitbull and Jennifer Lopez performed We Are One, while Shakira's Waka Waka closed the 2010 competition in South Africa.

Coca-Cola have already released their song "Colours" by Jason Derulo for the tournament.
