RAGE 2 has a gameplay trailer, will release in 2019

And yesterday the official Rage Twitter account tweeted: "C:DesktopVideosAnnounceTrailerMonday".

Check out the trailer above and the newly released screenshots below. Combining DOOM's shooting mechanics with an open world post-apocalyptic adventure seems like a good way to go for a sequel. It has also been stated in a post on Bethesda's site that the game will see a 2019 release date. Like the original, Rage 2 looks absolutely stunning.

However, at the beginning of the Rage 2 trailer there appeared to be a very brief bit of in-game footage.

Pre-Order for RAGE 2 is available right now priced at $59.99 implementing several pre-order bonuses.

Rage 2 is being developed between both id Software and Avalanche Studios.

There's only vague story details at the moment, but to be honest we don't think that's going to be a big appeal of the final game. "The game brings together two studio powerhouses-Avalanche Studios, masters of open world mayhem and id Software, gods of the first-person shooter-to deliver a carnival of carnage", Bethesda explains. This entire incident resulted in a teaser for Rage 2 which barely showed us anything about the game. After an asteroid turns the Earth into a hellscape vicious gangs, mutants, and the tyrannical Authority vie for control. That's where Walker's wealth of unique guns and gear comes in - and he'll need every one of his powerful weapons to defend the wild wasteland he calls home. Those are the gangs, or factions, that you'll be fighting in RAGE 2 in addition to The Authority, which acts like an oppressive ruler over the wasteland.

In the game you play as Walker, the last Ranger of the Wasteland in the year 2185. As expected, RAGE 2 will have some sort of storyline apart from the following, however, no further information has been revealed.

I'm sure more promotional material will follow in the coming days or weeks, offering a better look at RAGE 2.

Along the way you'll pilot everything from monster trucks to gyrocopters; if you can see it, you can drive it, apparently. In fact, watching the gameplay, I was thinking to myself, "This is Mad Max only in first person".

Id Software never came back to Rage as it chose to focus on other titles like Doom.
