All together now, the new film from directors Joe and Anthony Russo has made $450.8 million domestically, and $1.16 billion globally.

The Force Awakens hit $400 million faster and landed a bigger second weekend, with a $149.2 million (GBP110 million) take.

Overseas, the mega-Superhero group pic grossed another $162.6-M for a foreign total of $713.3-M and $1.164-B worldwide.

The $112.5 million that Infinity War is expected to make this weekend represents a dropoff of 56 percent from its opening weekend.

Combined, Avengers: Infinity War has now earned $1.164 billion, making it the fifth biggest superhero movie of all time.

Infinity War has already surpassed the global totals of The Dark Knight ($1 billion), The Dark Knight Rises ($1.09 billion), and Captain America: Civil War ($1.15 billion).

From a worldwide standpoint, Box Office Pro reports that Infinity War has grossed $1.16 billion around the world. The film stars Anna Faris and Eugenio Derbez as unlikely lovers, and was produced by MGM and Pantelion Films, a Lionsgate-backed production company aimed at Latino audiences.

In second place - and trailing by US$98 million - was Overboard, a gender-swapped remake of the 1987 romantic comedy with the same title.

The top 10 is rounded out by Tully ($3.18 million), Black Panther ($3.14 million), Truth or Dare ($1.88 million), Super Troopers 2 ($1.81 million) and Bad Samaritan ($3.9 million).

Black Panther added $3.14 million (GBP2.3 million) to its 12-week haul at seven and is now just $7 million (GBP5 million) from hitting $700 million at the North American box office.

Hollywood's summer movie season typically runs from the first weekend in May through Labor Day, but this year got a jump-start with the late April release of "Avengers: Infinity War".
