Earlier, Sony had released a teaser of the movie which received a lot of flak from fans as it did not feature Venom. The trailer is good but not remarkable and we once again get Hardy doing "something" with his voice. Although I will always agree that less footage is better than more, there was not even a peek at Venom himself, only Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock.

Directed by Ruben Fleischer (Zombieland), the superhero film stars Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock/Venom.

Venom is a Spider-Man spin-off, and the film is set to begin Sony's Marvel Universe, which will run concurrently alongside Marvel's own Cinematic Universe (MCU).

Venom has been directed by Ruben Fleischer (best known for directing Zombieland), and is meant to be the first film in Sony's Marvel Universe. Will you be watching it?

Hardy takes the lead, playing Eddie Brock, a freelance photographer who becomes infected by an alien lifeform and turns into a half-human, half-alien villain - who sees Spider-Man as his arch nemesis. Hardy's take, on the other hand, is that of an innocent victim who's trying to ward off the encroaching darkness that the symbiote brings into his life. In that comic-book, Venom goes up against the Life Foundation, a group that pushes the Venom symbiote to spawn several more variations.

I'll be honest, Venom doesn't look bad, but it does look...weird. "He's one of my favourite characters as well".

The 40-year-old actor debuted the clip - and a freshly shaved head - at CinemaCon on Monday in Las Vegas, alongside his Venom co-stars, Riz Ahmed and Michelle Williams.

"Being part of this movie is a dream come true", Tom said. And after all this time, we finally get to see the terrifying anti-hero in action.
