"Meanwhile in a statement, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Maryam Nawaz said 25 years had passed since Nawaz Sharif delivered a historic speech in which his words "I will never take the dictation" changed the political history as well as social behaviors".

The former premier was referring to recent Lahore High Court's verdict wherein it has temporarily barred TV channels from airing alleged "anti-judiciary speeches" uttered by Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam Nawaz and 14 other senior party leaders.

Earlier in the day, Nawaz had asserted that uncivilised restrictions could not be placed on anyone in the country.

Addressing a "sanctity of vote" seminar in Islamabad, the thrice prime minister said that only the people had right to entrust a person with the leadership of the country, adding that the history of Pakistan wasn't very pleasing.

Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Kulsoom Nawaz are facing corruption references in the accountability court.

He said the bench also dismissed Mr. Sharif's petition challenging the jurisdiction of the court in this matter.

She said Ms. Maryam made the most adverse remarks about the five judges who handed down disqualification to Mr. Sharif.

The Supreme Court, however, dismissed multiple contempt of court petitions against the ousted prime minister last month, saying on one occasion: "Commenting cleanly on a [court] decision is the right of every citizen".

She further said the Sharif family members and their aides pointed fingers at the honesty, bravery and upholding rule of law. He stressed the importance of overcoming the challenge.
