Inside, it has leather upholstery, head-up display, rear view camera, heated steering wheel and the 675-watt 10-speaker B&O Play Premium Audio System. Other driver assistance technologies include new adaptive headlights that illuminate a corner before you enter it, and evasive steering assist, which helps drivers steer around slower vehicles to avoid accidents. In the diesel camp, the 1.5-liter mill makes either 95 and 120 PS (both develop 300 Nm worth of twist) while the 2-liter choice churns out 150 PS and 370 Nm. The gasoline mill will allegedly be accompanied once again by a diesel unit in Europe, a decision which would make sense considering half of the Focus III ST cars are powered by the 2.0-liter TDCi diesel.

On the road, Ford claim it'll be better than ever thanks to a new independent rear suspension with continuously controlled damping. In particular, according to the manufacturer, the new Ford Focus became 88 kg lighter. It also spawns three driving modes: Normal, Sport and Eco. "I am immensely proud of the team that has helped deliver what I believe is the best auto we have ever made", he added. Latest intel suggests Ford will take the output to more than 400 horsepower and 425 pound-feet (576 Newton-meters) of torque delivered to the road exclusively through a dual-clutch automatic transmission. For the first time in the Focus range, Ford is offering an Active model, which has elevated ground clearance, rugged black plastic wheel arch mouldings and skid plates for crossover-esque style as well as some off-road ability.

Depending upon the market, the new Focus will be offered in 4-door sedan, 5-door wagon and 5-door hatchback body styles. Focus Zetec and ST-Line - together representing 55% of sales - are now £850 and £250 less respectively.
