Cape Town - South Africa have climbed one place to 76th in the world in the latest Federation Internationale de Football Association world rankings released on Thursday.

Following a quiet period with very few worldwide games, not many positions have changed.

Africa's other representatives at the World Cup; Senegal, Tunisia, Egypt and Morocco are 27th, 23rd, 44th and 42nd respectively.

Bafana Bafana also moved up one place to 15th in Africa.

No country in the world game accrued more points than Burkina Faso - who amassed 21 - since the latest Men's Ranking was updated, although the Stallions climb just one place overall.

Nigeria had 609 points, two points below Cameroon that is 51st in the world.

The Pharaohs now have 687 points in the rankings now sit fifth amongst other teams in the African continent, following Tunisia, Morocco, Senegal and Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Elsewhere, there's slight upwards movement for Cape Verde, Mali and Congo-Brazzaville, although Zimbabwe are the continent's biggest fallers - dropping three spots to 108th.

Poland were the only team to move among the top 20, after climbing to joint sixth place alongside Spain.
