On March 9, on the second day of the president's visit, the Fulani attacked again, killing four schoolchildren in their sleep in another Bassa village called Laake, part of Kwall District, WWM reported. Gen. Texas Chukwu, in a statement late on Wednesday, seven suspects had been arrested, while a number of weapons were recovered from them.

Brigadier General Chukwu also revealed that seven suspects were arrested with arms and ammunition.

The army said while conducting a search, 23 dead bodies were discovered while some weapons were recovered.

"As troops moved in to settle the dispute, the herdsmen opened fire on them".

"Weapons recovered include one Ak 47 assault rifle with 26 rounds of 7.62mm special and one locally made single barrel loaded with 15 rounds".

A statement by the government said the 6 pm to 6 am curfew follows the attack in the morning in Dong and Rafiki communities led to the loss of lives and destruction of property.

The Nigerian police on Tuesday confirmed 25 people were killed in an attack on Dundu, a community in the central state of Plateau. He also said there were no security operatives in the area.

"Law abiding citizens are advised go about their lawful businesses, " he said.

DAILY POST gathered that Governor Simon Lalong has summoned stakeholders in the Fulani community, the Irigwe people in Miango Bassa and Daffo people in Bokkos, for a crucial security meeting with a view to finding a lasting solution to the killings in the aforementioned communities.

According to sources in Daffo, last weekend, over 30 persons were buried, while several others were declared missing.

Two other soldiers escaped with injuries.

"We appreciate the efforts of management of Enos Hospital and Bingham University Teaching Hospital in Jos for taking time in treating the injured once".
