Earlier, a Canalys report showed that in December quarter, Xiaomi owned a market share of 27.4 per cent in the Indian smartphone market having sold 8.2 million smartphones. Redmi 5 is available in 2GB RAM + 16GB storage as well as 3GB RAM + 32GB ROM variants in China. The chipset is yet to be announced, and it is said to be an octa-core processor.
