Man arrested for stealing the Best Actress Oscar Trophy

Frances McDormand was the star of the Oscars show on Sunday night using her acceptance speech for Best Actress to promote equality in the film industry as she urged her female counterparts to stand alongside her.

Los Angeles Police have confirmed Terry Bryant was arrested for grand theft, after the statuette went missing from the Governor's Ball.

"I have two words to leave with you tonight, ladies and gentlemen: inclusion rider", said McDormand, before leaving the stage after accepting her award.

Bryant posted videos of himself on Facebook holding the award and he also kissed it. The photographer did not recognize Bryant as a recipient from the awards show and believed he was in possession of a trophy which did not belong to him.

Bryant is said to have had a ticket for the ball.

Just hours after winning her second best actress Oscar, Frances McDormand may have wanted to put up three billboards to find her golden statuette. "This is mine. We got it tonight, baby!"

After McDormand was reunited with her trophy, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences expressed relief. Allison Janney's roles as an abusive mother in I, Tonya won her Best Actress in a Supporting Role.

A representative for the actress told USA Today: "Fran and Oscar are happily reunited and are enjoying an In-N-Out burger together".

Bryant, who told other attendees he secured the Oscar "for music", was taken into custody by the LAPD Hollywood division soon after filming his "celebrations".

She told the audience: "Look around, everybody".
