Jaguar I-Pace reportedly to have 395hp of output

Somewhere along the line, the benchmark for making electric cars exciting was making them win in drag-races, so Jaguar has wasted no time in pitting the 2019 I-PACE against Tesla's Model X in an SUV shoot-out. As predicted, motors at each axle promise all-wheel drive performance, but now we know that their combined 394 horsepower and 512 pound-feet of torque will scoot the sizeable I-Pace from zero to 100 km/h in just 4.8 seconds.

With 395bhp, all-wheel-drive and space for five adult passengers, Jaguar claims the I-Pace puts it at the forefront of the EV revolution, with a spacious, practical SUV that still offers the brands' legendary driving experience.

With a 90kWh lithium-ion battery powering Jaguar-designed electric motors placed on the front and rear axles, the I-PACE delivers an estimated range of up to 386 km. Using that regular 7kW wall box at home will require a 10 hour wait to achieve an 80 percent charge, while a 50kW DC charger will do that in 85 minutes and a 100kW DC Rapid Charger will bring that down to 40 minutes, Jaguar says.

Like the Model X, the car's software can be updated wirelessly, and it includes features such as remote locking and checking on the car's range which can be controlled from an app on your phone. When it comes to technological advancement, there is new Touch Pro Duo infotainment system that combines touchscreens, capacitive sensors and tactile physical controls. There, the I-PACE starts from £63,495 for the base trim before any incentives: there are more expensive models, but they don't change the performance.

The new I-PACE at 15ft 4ins long slots into the Jaguar SUV line up in between the latest E-PACE and the top selling F-PACE launched previous year. "It moves us dramatically closer to our vision of a clean, safe and sustainable future". Boot capacity is 656 liters, and it grows to 1,453 liters with the seats folded flat. It looks futuristic and striking, but still maintains a number a Jaguar design traits.

To deliver a "true Jaguar" driver-focused experience, the I-Pace's bespoke EV aluminium architecture uses advanced construction technology to deliver a light, stiff body structure. It isn't just for looks - the I-Pace slices through the air with a Cd of just 0.29. Charge up your electric auto Jaguar by 80% in just 80 minutes with the optional 100-kilowatt "the charger".

Well, we finally have some actual specifications of Jaguar's much-anticipated I-Pace electric vehicle. This will give the I-PACE a range of up to 298 miles (WLTP cycle).
