Alongside offering data savings and data compression features, Samsung Max provides regular reports to let you see which of your favourite apps are consuming the most of your data limit. In addition to saving data and protecting people's privacy, Ultra Apps enables consumers to control the user experience of the social networks that they access.

Popular data saving app Opera Max, which was introduced way back in 2014, was discontinued previous year in August.

As the name suggests, Data Saving Mode is all about helping you use less data and potentially save money with your wireless carrier bill.

Samsung Electronics has introduced Samsung Max, a new and free Android application created to promote mobile data savings and application privacy management, with data usage monitoring and enhanced Wi-Fi security. The app compresses data such as photos, music, and videos while promising "no noticeable loss of quality". However, these features aren't only restricted to Wi-Fi networks, but are available on mobile networks as well.

In India, Argentina, Brazil, Indonesia, Mexico, Nigeria, South Africa, Thailand and Vietnam, the Samsung Max app will come pre-installed on Galaxy A and Galaxy J series smartphones.

Samsung has provided a bunch of features that are specific to security as well. "We developed Samsung Max to give users premium security features for added safety and peace of mind".

While Samsung hasn't mentioned third-party devices, the app is confirmed to be working on a HomTom HT50 with no problems.

It also encrypt, block tracking scripts to make your connection with web servers much secure. The new browser will unsurprisingly be named Samsung Max, letting you know that while the company maintaining it may have changed, the mission of this browser is staying the same.

While the Samsung Max by default serves ads, you can choose whether to view ads inside the app or on the lock screen only while your device is plugged in and charging.

The app is currently available for download on Android devices via the Google Play Store, although for now it seems that it will be exclusive to Samsung's own handsets. Samsung Max offers a one-tap encryption solution to secure WiFi hotspots.
