Six new committee members, including Castiglione, are expected to be announced in February, per Dinich's report.

Georgia Tech athletic director Todd Stansbury will be one of the six new College Football Playoff selection committee members, multiple sources told ESPN on Wednesday. "Each one of them has built a distinguished career based on diligence and doing things the right way".

Scott Stricklin, the Gators' director of athletics, was among the six new committee members who will begin serving a three-year term this spring.

Mullens will be joined by several new members of the committee and they arrive as follows.

Lott, 58, was an All-American defensive back at USC in 1980 before spending 14 seasons in the National Football League, primarily with the San Francisco 49ers.

The five classifications of members are: people with experience as (1) coaches, (2) student-athletes, (3) administrators, (4) journalists and also (5) sitting directors of athletics.

Boivin is a former sportswriter for the Arizona Republic and now works for Arizona State's Journalism School and recently became the first female journalist to be elected to the Arizona Sports Hall of Fame.

Hatfield, who was most recently the head coach at Rice (1994-2005), was also the head coach at Air Force (1979-83), Arkansas (1984-89) and Clemson (1990-93). Hocutt was replaced by OR athletic director Rob Mullens as chairman. The Athletic is reporting that Oregon AD Rob Mullens, who is already on the committee, will replace Kirby Hocutt as selection committee chairman in 2018. He previously served as the AD at Missouri for five years.

We saw this evidenced by UCF's 13-0 season past year that was capped off by the Knights defeating Auburn in the Peach Bowl.
