One of their latest smartwatches, the touchscreen Fitbit Ionic, has a four day battery life, a variety of integrated workout plans and Global Positioning System tracking. With more deals available and a higher number of online shoppers this year, it's expected that Black Friday 2017 will see sales and e-commerce records from last year broken.

Walmart, Target, Macy's, JCPenney, Best Buy, Toys R Us, Kohl's, and Dick's Sporting Goods all announced plans to open at least some of their stores on Thanksgiving evening to draw in holiday shoppers. Since 2010 average consumer spending during the holiday season has been on the rise, increasing at 5% per annum.

The National Retail Federation estimates that 69 percent of Americans, or 164 million, people will take advantage of the deals retailers offer on a vast variety of goods in stores and online.
