A MA mother on Wednesday accused Kevin Spacey of sexually assaulting her 18-year-old son on the holiday island of Nantucket last year and said police had opened a criminal investigation. He ran away to his grandmother's house when Spacey went to the bathroom.

Unruh said her son is still deeply affected by the incident, and it continues to bother him.

The alleged assault happened at the Club Car Restaurant after Unruh said Spacey bought her son "drink after drink" until his was intoxicated.

Spacey has not commented on Unruh's claim.

Unruh said her son was able to escape when Spacey got up for a moment to use the restroom.

Shortly after the alleged event occurred last summer, Unruh said she informally spoke with the Nantucket sheriff and only officially reported the matter last week. "Reports of sexual assaults are confidential under Massachusetts General Law", a spokesperson for the police department said.

"Nothing could have prepared my son for how that sexual assault would make him feel as a man", she said.

Spacey also came out as gay in the same statement saying, "As those closest to me know, in my life I have had relationships with both men and women".

"Whether he was over 21 or not, Kevin Spacey had no right to sexually assault him", she said. He has tried his best to deal with it. "I want to see Kevin Spacey have the hand of justice come down on him".

Since the allegations came out, Netflix suspended production on the final season of "House of Cards" and severed ties with the actor, while the premiere of his Oscar buzzworthy drama "All the Money in the World" was cancelled at AFI Fest in Los Angeles, his Emmy honor was rescinded, and he is now under investigation by the London police.

But now, she added, "he's committed to doing what he can to stop Kevin Spacey from victimizing anyone else".

Gay Talese has a cold perspective about the multiple men who have accused Kevin Spacey of sexual harassment and assault. A publicist said last week that Spacey is "taking the time necessary to seek evaluation and treatment".
