UAE Ambassador: US Should Move Key Base Out of Qatar

Qatar, which imported 80 percent of its food from bigger Gulf Arab neighbors before the diplomatic shutdown, has also been talking to Iran and Turkey to secure food and water. He is reported to have said that this would maintain the pressure on Doha to respond positively and help bring a speedy end to the regional siege.

Qatar has been accused by Saudi Arabia and the UAE of supporting terrorism, claims that the tiny state strongly refute.

Also Wednesday, Saudi Arabia blocked access to Qatar's state TV website in the latest move by the kingdom to isolate the tiny Gulf country.

Qatar denies allegations that it supports terrorism and has vowed not to give up its independent foreign policy.

Djibouti downgraded ties with Qatar last week, saying it was acting in "solidarity with the global coalition combating terrorism and extremist violence, as well as with the Gulf and Arab countries". Qatar also hosts around 10,000 US troops, as well as the forward headquarters of the military's Central Command that's conducting air campaigns in Iraq, Afghanistan and Syria.

Cavusoglu will also hold talks with Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, a ministry statement said, adding "recent regional developments" would be discussed, without giving further details.

The Saudi Press Agency, while announcing the severing of relations with Qatar, had said it had been done for "protection of national security from the dangers of terrorism and extremism".

The two-day Oslo Forum was also attended by U.S. former Secretary of State John Kerry and a number of foreign ministers from different countries.

"The request for political protection from two non-Arab countries and military protection from one of them could be a new tragic and comic chapter", said UAE foreign minister Anwar Gargash.

The source noted that Humayqani's inclusion on the Saudi terror list is proof that Saudi Arabia, which created the coalition to support Yemen's legal government and combat terror, "won't make it easy for those proved to be involved in supporting and financing terror".

He also said that the United Nations is receiving reports that "specific individuals have already been summarily instructed to leave the country they are residing in, or have been ordered to return home by their own Government".
