Is Donald Trump Uncertain?

President Donald Trump says he'll make a final decision next week on whether the USA will stay in the Paris climate agreement.

On a foreign swing President Donald Trump and his aides hoped would distance him from a storm of Russian Federation controversy, he has been unable to escape the cloud of suspicion swirling around him and his administration.

President Trump celebrated his "home run" of a foreign trip during a speech in Italy to USA military troops he called the "warriors of freedom" and "the patriots who keep the fires of liberty burning".

President Donald Trump is about to speak at the Naval Air Station Sigonella in Sicily, Italy.

For his part, Trump announced the completion of a massive deal to sell Saudi Arabia U.S. weapons, and in his remarks made it plain that he wasn't interested so much in human rights in the region so long as leaders joined the U.S. -led fight against Islamist terrorism.

Outside of a decision on the climate agreement, Trump is facing a new handful of Russian Federation controversies once he returns home.

And Trump's policy agenda has run into problems. And they are skeptical he'll confront Moscow's continued meddling in Western elections, given Russian hackers took the same steps in last year's US presidential election to sway the vote in Trump's favor. And although the White House got the Vatican audience it wanted, Pope Francis' dour facial expressions likely were not the images it had hoped for. Many other world leaders held press conferences after the summit, but instead, Trump will be delivering this speech at the Naval Air Station Sigonella.

Other G-7 nations leaned heavily on Trump to stay in the climate deal, with German Chancellor Angela Merkel saying "we put forward very many arguments".

Trump and Trudeau also discussed "issues of global concern". Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One on Thursday, Trump's chief economic adviser Gary Cohn said Trump had yet to formulate a plan. He says there was no conscious decision for the president to not specifically endorse the "one of all, all for one" principle, which underpins the military alliance.

But while Trump told the troops that his meetings with global leaders have restored his confidence in the strength of America's alliances, he stressed that the joint effort to defeat terrorism would not be possible without the American men and women who dedicate their lives to military service.

Trump notably did not explicitly endorse Article 5 of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation charter during his remarks in Brussels earlier this week. The omission was stark, given Trump's wavering on the commitment during the campaign trail and his otherwise sharp focus on other countries boosting their defense expenditures.

"To have to reaffirm something by the very nature of being here and speaking at a ceremony about it is nearly laughable", said White House press secretary Sean Spicer.

Kushner's lawyers have said he will cooperate with the newly appointed special counsel.

News that the federal probe had now reached Trump's inner circle broke soon after Trump touched down in Sicily, where on Friday he huddled with the leaders of six of the world's most powerful countries.
